I’ve never had fondant. What does it taste like?
Fondant is a form of icing that is very smooth and looks flawless on cakes. Fondant gives our cake decorator the ability to make cakes come alive. Fondant is a bit chewier version of a marshmallow. Some people do not care for it, while others love it. If you are worried your guests will not like the taste but you love the look, it is very easy to peel off and eat around!
What type of dessert are you best known for?
At Sweet Spot Cake Shoppe we are often told our specialty cakes, ice cream cakes and cannolis are tops in town. Although we will have our personal favorites, we believe the deliciousness of all our desserts speak for themselves. Therefore, regardless what dessert you try, we are sure you will leave with a smile.
Do you deliver?
Wedding cakes and large orders can be delivered and set-up for an additional charge. Those details can be discussed at the time of the order. Some of the variables that determine delivery costs are location, time and date of the delivery. We also are also willing to discuss delivery for local orders with regular customers.
Do you offer wedding cake tastings?
We do offer wedding cake tastings for the couple and family up to a maximum of four (4) who will get to taste up to three cake flavors and three fillings of your choice. The tasting will take approximately 45 minutes with the cost of $35. In the event you choose to order your wedding cake after the tasting, we will credit the cost towards your order. (Please note wedding cake tastings require an appointment, so please call for details).
What cake flavors do you offer?
Our Traditional flavors are white, chocolate, and yellow. Our Specialty flavors are marble, strawberry, carrot, red velvet, lemon, butter pecan, almond (Wedding Cake), and German chocolate. Interested in something different? Just ask us!
Am I able to get each tier a different flavor?
Yes! There is no additional cost to do more than one flavor- this goes for both wedding cakes and all other events!
Do you offer fillings for cakes?
We can put a filling in any cake for you. We offer strawberry, raspberry, lemon curd, cherry, custard, fudge, and caramel. Have something else in mind? Let us know. We are happy to fulfill special requests.
How far in advance do I need to place my order?
The earlier the better! An ideal timeframe for an everyday birthday cake is 48 hours and wedding cakes are 30 days. This is subject to change, as some weeks fill up fast! If you are needing a last minute order, please call the Shoppe to check availability. Online orders need a minimum of four days notice.
Do you offer buttercream or whipped topping?
We offer both and they are delicious!
